About the App
Asset Atlas is a Jira Cloud app built on the Atlassian Forge platform. It provides a visual gallery of Jira issues with configurable fields, filters, and thumbnail images sourced from issue attachments. The app operates entirely within Atlassian's infrastructure — we do not operate any servers, databases, or backend systems outside of Atlassian Forge.

What data does the app access?
The app accesses Jira data solely on behalf of the authenticated user, using Atlassian's asUser() API. This means the app can only access data that the user themselves has permission to access within Jira. Specifically, the app reads:

  1. Jira issue data (summary, status, attachments, and other fields configured by the project admin)
  2. Issue attachment content (images), fetched server-side for display as thumbnails within Jira
  3. Project roles, to determine which users are permitted to set thumbnails
  4. JQL autocomplete data, to assist with query configuration
No data is transmitted outside of Atlassian's infrastructure at any point.

What data does the app store?
The app stores only the following data, using Atlassian Forge KVS (key-value storage):

  1. View configuration — JQL queries, selected fields, and display settings configured by the project admin. Contains no personal data.
  2. Portrait/thumbnail selections — a mapping of Jira issue IDs to attachment IDs, used to remember which image is selected as the thumbnail for each issue. This contains no personal data beyond Jira issue identifiers.
  3. Issue cache — a temporary cache of Jira issue data to reduce API calls. This is stored within Forge KVS and expires automatically.
All stored data resides exclusively within Atlassian's Forge infrastructure. We have no direct access to this storage.

Cookies and tracking
The app does not set or use any cookies. It does not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies. No data is shared with any third party.

Data sharing
We do not share, sell, or transmit any user data to third parties. All data processing takes place within Atlassian's Forge platform.

Data retention
Data stored in Forge KVS persists for as long as the app is installed on the Jira project. Upon uninstalling the app, data stored by the app is deleted in accordance with Atlassian's Forge platform policies.

Legal basis for processing
The legal basis for processing Jira data is the performance of the service requested by the user and the legitimate interest of providing the app's functionality (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  1. Right to information — what data is processed and why (this policy).
  2. Right of access — you can request information about data held about you.
  3. Right to rectification — you can ask for inaccurate data to be corrected.
  4. Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your data where applicable.
  5. Right to restriction of processing.
  6. Right to data portability.
  7. Right to object to processing.

Children
Asset Atlas is a business productivity tool intended for use within corporate Jira environments. It is not directed at children under the age of 16.
